On the night of 30th November 2005 a severe storm which was concentrated around the town of Woolgoolga blew the corrugated iron roof off the surf club which ended up
wrapped around trees in Wharf St. and also in the front yard of a house that had no trees in front. The distance the roof travelled over houses through the air was amazing.
